Bio

I am an Associate Professor of Political Science and Asian Studies at Vanderbilt University. My research focuses on international security and the political economy of conflict, with particular emphasis on alliance politics and deterrence, China-centered security relations, economic dependence and conflict, and AI-enabled information warfare and influence operations. Much of my work examines cross-Strait security dynamics and the strategic interaction among China, Taiwan, and the United States.

I received a Ph.D. in Political Science and an M.A. in Economics from Duke University.
